Cohorts start monthly. They are a shared starting point and a shared set of goals, not a schedule you can fall behind. Progress here is counted in payments made and work done, never in weeks elapsed.

Augusta circle

First and third Tuesdays · Augusta, Kansas · in person

The founding circle. Open to any member who can get there, and to any Butler County resident who wants to see what this is before joining.

Masterpiece review, open session

14 October · Livestreamed · named judges, published rubric

Masterpieces are judged in the open. Anyone may watch, member or not. The rubric is published beforehand and the written decision is published afterwards with the judges’ names on it.

Recognition of Fellows

11 November · Livestreamed · entered in the public Register

Ranks are conferred publicly, with witnesses named. Attendance is never required to receive one: roughly half of Chautauqua’s graduates never attended their own recognition day, and were recognised anyway by post. We design for that from the start.
