Our commitment
The Institute exists for people whom institutions have already failed once. A site they cannot use would be a poor way to prove the point.
We aim to meet WCAG 2.2 Level AA across this site and the member platform.
What we do
- Automated accessibility testing runs on every change to the member platform and blocks the release if it fails.
- Semantic headings, landmarks, and a skip link on every page.
- Visible focus outlines, and every interactive element reachable by keyboard.
- Text contrast checked against AA thresholds.
- Alternative text on images that carry meaning.
- Motion reduced automatically for anyone whose system asks for it.
- Layouts that work down to small screens and reflow at 200% zoom.
Where we are not there yet
This site is new and has not yet had an independent audit. We will publish the result when it has, including the parts we fail. Third-party embeds and any PDFs we publish are the likeliest gaps.
Tell us
If something here is hard or impossible to use, write to hello@cnjames.org and describe what happened and what you were using. We treat these as defects, not requests, and we will tell you what we are doing about it.
Accommodations
If you need materials in a different format, more time on a practice assessment, or another adjustment to take part fully, ask. You do not need to provide documentation or explain your reasons.
